What is Homeschooling?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Homeschooling is a home-based education system, that includes the potential participation of the parent or trainer as a teacher to the child.<\/span><\/p>

The parent is at the center of the educative process. The child acquires the necessary skills to develop their full potential to become a self-propelling, fulfilled, and contributing member of the community.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What are the advantages of Self Homeschooling?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Self Homeschooling offers a plethora of benefits in various aspects, not just for the child but for the entire family.<\/span><\/p>

Academic -\u00a0<\/strong>More time and focus can be given to subjects or topics where your child needs more assistance with. Your child may learn at their\u00a0own pace in line with their learning style and has the opportunity to express themselves fully in their own way.<\/span><\/p>

Who can Homeschool?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Homeschooling is offered on our LMS for all years from Primary Year 1 to High school Year 11.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What is an LMS?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

An LMS is a Learning Management System and is a software platform which is designed specifically to create, distribute and manage the delivery of educational content. This combines a wide range of features to simulate a class setting without having the students being physically present in a classroom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Our Self Homeschooling platform is an LMS used to share our courses, learning objectives, instructions, reading material, videos, worksheets and an assessment for that specific topic with students.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

How does the LMS engage learners?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Our LMS includes Kinaesthetic, Visual, Auditory and interactive elements to support the student learning process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The students have access to reading material, worksheets, videos and quizzes. This ensures the students are engaged in a variety of different ways.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What is a monthly and yearly course?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Our courses are organised over a ten month period starting from September until June.<\/span><\/p>

Each monthly course contains a set of topics for that period and every month has a different set of topics.<\/span><\/p>

A yearly course is basically all the months combined into one at a discounted rate.<\/span><\/p>

For example if someone purchases a different course every month it will cost more than purchasing a yearly course.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Should I purchase a monthly or yearly course?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

This is something that only you can decide and are totally comfortable with. Some people prefer purchasing courses on a monthly basis as it gives them more flexibility. Whilst others prefer to take advantage of the discounted rate added to the yearly course.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What curriculum do you follow?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Our Self Homeschooling platform follows the British Curriculum of England and Wales.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What qualification will my child receive at the end of their course?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Your child will receive a qualification from the examining board after they have taken their exams in Year 10 or 11. We do not provide any internal qualifications as we only provide resources to support the learning process via the LMS.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

How will my child take their exams?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Once your child is in Year 10 or 11 that is when they will be taking exams. At this stage they will need to apply to an exam centre to take their exams for IGCSE. We can assist your child with applying for their exam if needed. There are no exams for primary and lower Secondary year groups.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Do you provide transcripts?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

We do not issue transcripts, but instead we provide a record of student\u2019s assessments. You will have access to their results on the learning management system.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Is there a registration Fee?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

No, there are no registration fees.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

How much will it cost?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

A single monthly course costs 299 aed. Although if you purchase more than one, each monthly course can be as low as 139 aed.<\/span><\/p>

How do I purchase a course?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

When you have chosen your courses you can add them to your cart. You can then use the checkout function to complete your purchase. Payments can be made securely by card, bank transfer or even via an ATM. We do not process payments by phone, email or postal mail.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Do you offer a free trial?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Yes we do offer a free trial.<\/span><\/p>

Prior to purchasing any course, you can have a trial with a free monthly course option on the Home page.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Can my child study from abroad?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Yes of course you can!<\/span><\/p>

We have many students in many different countries and as long you have a stable Internet connection your child will be able to keep up with learning wherever they are. Exams for year 10 and and 11 students can be taken at test centres worldwide.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

When can I start?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

You can start at any time. We are very flexible and you can start all year round not just in September and January.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Can I withdraw my child mid-year to Self Homeschool or do I need to wait until the end of the school year?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

There is no reason why you cannot withdraw your child from school mid-year. You are totally in charge of your own decision, be that for personal or financial reasons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

I have registered, how do I get started?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Once you have registered you can browse and purchase courses. You will then find you have access to a dashboard, showing your personal profile, enrolled courses and purchase history.<\/span><\/p>

You can then go to your enrolled courses and start learning on the LMS.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What do I need to get started?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

A supportive home learning environment (a place to learn within the home).<\/span><\/p>

In addition, access to a computer\/laptop\/tablet\/mobile device and internet is required.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

How many courses do I have to take?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

There is no requirement for the amount of courses taken by a student.<\/span><\/p>

You can purchase one course or several courses, this depends entirely on your needs.<\/span><\/p>

All the courses offered are core subjects, therefore we do recommend taking all the courses available for your specific level. For example if you are in grade 9 we recommend purchasing the yearly courses for English, Maths and Science. This is also the most cost effective choice.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

How do I know what courses I should take?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Our courses are organised on a monthly basis from September to June. You are more than welcome to follow our structure, although you are free to pick and choose any monthly course based on your own preferences.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Are you accredited?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Our Self Homeschooling LMS platform is not a school.\u00a0 <\/span>It is an online homeschool learning platform to be used as a tool for educating your children at home.<\/span><\/p>

You can use our resources designed by highly qualified teachers based on decades of teaching experience to do the hard part. This then along with your supervision at home allows for a successful learning experience.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Do you provide technical support?<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>

Yes we do.<\/span><\/p>
